The O2 Centre in London is best known for playing host to the likes of Beyoncé, but a company backed by a European pharmaceuticals billionaire is hoping that it will soon also become a retail destination to rival Bicester Village near Oxford.
According to EuroProperty, Crosstree Real Estate, funded by Ernesto Bertarelli, the Swiss-Italian tycoon, wants to buy a 50 per cent stake in the retail and leisure element of the arena from Anschutz Entertainment Group, the American firm, for about £100 million and develop it into a designer outlet.
